Erbium Laser Skin Resurfacing)
About the Erbium Laser:
The Erbium laser is designed to noticeably decrease the appearance of lines and wrinkles while improving the overall skin tone and texture of the face, neck, and décolleté. It is the latest advance for the treatment of aging, sun-damaged skin. It provides a safer, more accurate and less painful method of restoring softer, smoother, more youthful-appearing skin. The Erbium laser vaporizes the outer layers of the skin to help increase cell turnover and produces heat to cause contraction to stimulate the production of your own collagen. In most cases, patients can have their procedure done in the doctor’s office and be home that same day.
What About the Recovery?
Skin resurfacing with the Erbium laser results in less post-operative redness, less swelling and provides a more rapid healing that with other skin resurfacing methods. In most cases, patients are fully recovered and back to normal activities within 7-10 days. Post-operatively, there is a period of healing which is generally completed within five to seven days. Sunblock should be applied and a hat should be worn when in the sun. Make-up (mineral makeup recommended) can be worn after the first week. Over the next few weeks, your fresh, new pink skin will fade to a normal tone revealing a softer, smoother, younger look.
